Arthritis is the deterioration of the cartilage between the bone
and joints: joint motion is not smooth and the friction between
bone and joint causes pain and swelling. In the United States
alone, over 1 million people, generally over the age of 50, suffer
from Arthritis. One growing trend is for these sufferers to use a
natural arthritis treatment as a way of managing pain, and an
alternative to prescription anti-inflammatory drugs such as Vioxx,
Celebrex, Bextra, while avoiding the side effects of a regular
psoriatic arthritis treatment.
Arthritis involves pain or swelling or inflammation of joints
resulting from infections or metabolic disturbances. Because pain
and the stiffness which follows a pain-attack can be debilitating,
it is essential to treat Arthritis before the condition moves onto
the next stage, a more severe form of the disease. Even in the case
of domestic dogs, early Canine Arthritis Treatment can help in
halting the spread of the disease.
Every natural arthritis treatment starts its work within 4
hours. Some treatments even repair the cartilage between the joints
and therefore prevent stiffness and swelling. So, what are
arthritis natural treatments? Following are some of the more
popular treatments: The naturally occurring sulfur compound, MSM
that acts as an anti-inflammatory and will reduce swelling. Vitamin
B3, which helps maintain the integrity of cells and tissues and
thereby hindering the onset and progression of arthritis.
Glucosamine, a popular arthritis relief natural supplement which is
found naturally in the body. Turmeric and Ginger Extract – these
anti-inflammatory herbal extracts are considered to be more
effective than NSAIDs in the treatment of the many types of
arthritis such as rheumatoid and osteoarthritis. And finally,
Manganese, which slows the aging process and is useful for
psoriatic arthritis treatment.
Other natural arthritis treatments do not involve medications.
These “alternative” techniques are useful for those sufferers who
are particularly sensitive to side-effects or for treating domestic
animals – as in the case of canine arthritis treatment – where it
is difficult to get the animal to ingest the medication. These
techniques include acupuncture which uses the insertion of thin
needles to stimulate energy flow by causing the nervous system to
release endogenous, which acts as pain-relieving chemicals.
The other popular and effective natural arthritis treatment
which does not include medications is the Alexander Technique. This
involves analyzing full body patterns, as opposed to focusing on
specific symptoms. By encouraging an improved stance and way of
moving, we are better able to eliminate the tension which is
responsible for many ailments such as arthritis.

Remedies for treating Psoriatic Arthritis
September 6th, 2009
Psoriatic arthritis is an inflammation associated with
psoriasis, a debilitating condition that causes the skin to redden,
flake and peel. It is estimated that over 7 million people are
affected by the various psorlatic diseases. The symptoms are
specific to the actual type of psoriatic arthritis. Specific
symptoms may include: back pain, a certain “stiffness” after
periods of prolonged rest, swelling (known as sausage digi”) and
discomfort in the joints.
Fortunately, psoriatic arthritis is treatable with many
off-the-shelf arthritis remedies and unlike glucosamine arthritis,
which requires continual and regular treatment, psoriatic arthritis
require treatment only when the various symptoms develop. And then,
when the symptoms disappear or subside, therapy can be stopped.
The goal of psoriatic arthritis treatment is to control
inflammation. But because inflammatory diseases can cause
inflammation around the joints, patients often seek help from
dermatologists as well as rheumatologists. Depending on the
specifics of the particular case, as presented by the patient, and
the patient’s prior use of the various arthritis remedies,
treatment may include one or all of the following: specialized
exercise programs, programs of exercises, medication for the joints
consisting of arthritis remedies such as glucosamine that reduce
inflammation, and in rare cases the surgical replacement of badly
affected joints.
Additional treatment options are available from Rheumatologists,
as they are specialists in musculoskeletal disorders. Psoriatic
Arthritis Treatment options from Rheumatologists include: non
steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) Arthritis Remedies. Always
ensure these drugs are taken with food so as to avoid complications
and side effects. Disease modifying drugs such as Glucosamine can
be used to slow the progress of the arthritis. These drugs also
have some nasty side effects – particularly on the kidneys and
liver.
A comprehensive exercise program will reduce the swelling and
pain of psoriatic arthritis. Exercise also has other benefits to
the arthritis sufferer as it results in improving movement,
stabilizing joints, improving sleep patterns, increasing stamina
plus an improvement in general physical appearance.
But perhaps the best arthritis remedies are the most simple. For
those who suffer from pain in the joints, a long soaking warm bath
will work wonders. If this is not possible, apply a warm
compression to the affected area. This can be easily done at home,
but you can consider psoriatic arthritis treatment from health
professionals such as physiotherapists or occupational therapists
who can provide such treatments using heat, cold or even exercises
to heal the joints.

What exactly is Glucosamine Arthritis Formula? Is it a
pharmaceutical or can it be considered a Natural Arthritis
Treatment. This article will answer these questions by explaining
the disease and the terrible affect it has on its victims,
presenting a brief history of natural arthritis treatment and the
various arthritis remedies available on the market today.
For centuries – long before the discovery of Glucosamine and all
other Arthritis Remedies, the medical profession of the day offered
little to help manage the symptoms of arthritis pain. The first
treatment for the disease was discovered about a hundred years ago.
Aspirin, and other Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAID),
such as Ibuprofen and Naproxen Sodium. These drugs were very
effective at relieving arthritic aches and pains. However, if taken
over protracted periods, there were some nasty side effects such as
bleeding in the stomach and even major organ failure. The reason
for these side effects is that the NSAIDS inhibited the COX-1
enzyme. This gave the desired affect of providing pain relief. But,
as COX-1 is a non-specific molecule, it has an impact on other
parts of the body such as digestion.
Then, along came Glucosamine. Because it is a natural arthritis
treatment, it works quite differently to the NSAIDs or other
arthritis remedies such as COX 2 drugs. By inhibiting all enzymes
that destroy cartilage, Glucosamine creates and maintains cartilage
tissue and tendons.
Unfortunately, like all arthritis remedies, Glucosamine will not
cure arthritis. But, because it works from within, soothing your
joints in its protective solution, it will heal your joints instead
of simply reducing pain. For this reason, you will need to wait a
bit longer to see the results.
The big advantage of Glucosamine Arthritis treatment as compared
to other Arthritis Remedies is that once you have achieved relief,
it is far more permanent. It also has protective properties,
protecting your joints from further damage.
In the case of you requiring quicker pain relief, take
Glucosamine together with other Natural Arthritis Treatments or the
traditional NSAIDS such as aspirin. In many ways, this offers the
best of both worlds: temporary pain relief (from the NSAID) and at
the same time Glucosimine will start rebuilding your cartilage.

Due to a sedate lifestyle, back pain arthritis is a very common
health problem in the western world. For example, in the United
States alone, three quarters of all adults will have back pain at
some time – and 10 percent will have back pain in any given year.
This article will identify the causes of arthritis in the back and
knee, commonly known as arthritis knee pain.
Contrary to popular belief, the majority of people who suffer
with back pain have not damaged their spine. Instead, the source of
the pain is the joints, muscles, and ligaments. If the pain
continues for a significant period of time (say 3 months), health
professionals who specialize in back pain arthritis would link the
pain to a degeneration of the discs.
Spinal facet joints can develop arthritis, just like any other
joint in the body. For example, a degeneration of the tendons of
the knee would result in arthritis knee pain. In the case of back
pain arthritis, there is degeneration and inflammation within the
joint plus a growth of bony spurs on the sides and connective
tissue of the vertebrae. In addition, some forms of severe
inflammatory arthritis such as ankylosing spondylitis directly
involve the spine. This common arthritis of the facet joints is
usually coupled with conditions such as disc degeneration.
Whilst arthritis is the most common cause of back pain, there
are a number of potential causes of arthritis. This includes:
vertebral fracture as a result of a thinning of the bones due to
osteoporosis. In the case the vertebrae are so porous and brittle
that they fracture very easily. It is this fracture which then
causes the back pain. Another example is a bulging inter-vertebral
discs compressing the Sciatic nerve. This condition is known as
Sciatica, and in many cases is more acute than back pain arthritis.
The other common cause is a strain of the muscle or ligament. This
usually occurs with common and mundane activities such as the
Lifting a heavy load without the correct technique or back support,
performing new exercises or simply bad posture. And to make thins
even more complicated, these causes of back pain can often
interact: for example, spending too much time sitting with a lazy
posture can put pressure on the discs in your lower back, which in
turn compresses on the Sciatica nerve, causing a condition very
similar to back pain arthritis.
